History Blog

This is my history blog for Mr. Boyle's G period class. There you have it. I have been keeping this blog since whenever school kinda started back up again. I don't really know when but it was after marching band started up again. Anyway, I looked back on all of the posts that I have been doing for about half a minute today and realized that all of these are terribly boring. So I think I'll add some fun stuff in.

Post About Classwork (Every Two Cycle Days)

January 31, 2013 and February 1, 2013

On the 31st, we spent half of the class reading an obituary on Andrew Johnson. Then for the rest of class, we discussed what we had read. This included a lot about what he did after the death of Lincoln and his own political beliefs. We also discussed how the thought of assassinating a president had never really come up before so nobody thought that he actually would have to step into the shoes of the president.

On the 1st, we walked into the room to find a picture on the board. We came to the conclusion that it was probably of slaves and then Mr. Boyle told us what was actually in the photo. It was a picture of sharecroppers. Then we learned about sharecropping contracts and how former owners tricked former slaves into signing contracts with loopholes that basically made them their slaves again. It was pretty awful.

Until next time!
