September 28, 2012 and October 1, 2012
On September 28th, we learned about how the colonies were similar and different. We learned about how they worked together but each had special attributes. Afterwords, we made Vokis about each section of the colonies--New England, the Middle Colonies, and the Southern Colonies. The links to each of them are shown in the previous post, Voki Classwork Links.
On the 1st of October, we divided into groups and read a handout about the French-Indian war and how it all began. We talked about how the French claimed a lot of land for trade and how George Washington ended up taking aver fort Duquense. (He needed land for tobacco growing.) Even though the colonists ended up winning, the King of England let the Native Americans stay anyway. We also talked briefly about what was to come--no taxation without representation!
Until next time!
