History Blog

This is my history blog for Mr. Boyle's G period class. There you have it. I have been keeping this blog since whenever school kinda started back up again. I don't really know when but it was after marching band started up again. Anyway, I looked back on all of the posts that I have been doing for about half a minute today and realized that all of these are terribly boring. So I think I'll add some fun stuff in.

Activity #3: U.S. Intervention in Haiti Classwork

Well, now that all of the gold is in the vaults in New York and the Marines are protecting the Haitians, there seems to be a response of pure hatred. In everyday conversations, you can here them talking about the news of this and their talk is negative. We are even experiencing an attack from Charlemagne Peralte and his resistance movement. He has also claimed that President Wilson is a hypocrite. He also says, "Die for your country. Long live Independence! Long live teh Union! Long live the just war! Down with Americans!" He claims that he and teh rest of the Haitians are prepared to do anything to liberate Haiti. I would say that they have reacted... poorly. (And I don't blame them.)
We know that the marines have killed many a Haitian who tried to resist but what goes on in everyday life. Well, many American organizations actually oppose the U.S. occupation of Haiti. The NAACP actually opposed this very directly including an article By James Weldon Johnson countering the standard justifications for U.S. occupation of Haiti. American responses seem to differ.
That's all for now! Until next time!
