History Blog

This is my history blog for Mr. Boyle's G period class. There you have it. I have been keeping this blog since whenever school kinda started back up again. I don't really know when but it was after marching band started up again. Anyway, I looked back on all of the posts that I have been doing for about half a minute today and realized that all of these are terribly boring. So I think I'll add some fun stuff in.

Post About Classwork (The Last Four Cycle Days)

January 25, 2013, January 28, 2013, January 29, 2013, and January 30, 2013

On the 25th, we took a lot of notes on the assassination of Lincoln. It was kind of ironic because if he hadn't been assassinated, it probably would've benefited the south more. We also listened to some epic music dedicated to him. I thought that it was cool and had some really nice dynamics.

On the 28th, we went to the library and worked on the computers. We looked at a specific state in the south and tried coming up with ideas of what southerners might think and/or want after loosing the Civil War. It was interesting trying to think like that because I've grown up in a completely different time with completely different ideas. We also looked at a political cartoon that brought up the KKK and filled out worksheets for these activities.

On the 29th, we learned about the 14th Ammendment. We filled out a worksheet, discussed it, watched a short video clip, and made magazine covers about what the latest news could've been after it was passed. Then we presented and left.

On the 30th, we looked at Lincoln's, Johnson's, and the radical's ideas for reconstruction after the Civil War. Each had different ideas for punishing the south while still bringing it back into the country. We also thought of what our own ideas would have been had we made the decisions. Then we colored a map that showed how the radical's would have divided the south.

Well, until next time!
