Looking back at history (we do that in history class you know), other than a few radicals, I feel like the United States wanted slavery gone from the comfort of their couch so I think that this picture kind of explains that.
Right now I think we're coming up to that final push and falling off the bed (but at this point not caring) and actually doing something about the issue (in history, I mean).
So...
